Gabriel was born with mud on his booties. Growing up in the company he has had the unique opportunity to work alongside his parents learning about their love and respect for nature. A graduate of University of Southern Indiana and La Universidad de Granada, studying Business Administration and Spanish, he has been able to use his horticulture background to springboard into many interesting education and job opportunities.

Before returning to DHS, he worked as an assistant purchasing agent and yard manager for Lambert’s Landscaping Company based in Dallas, TX. While working for the state’s highest-end residential clients his standard for quality in landscaping and horticulture only grew. Excited to be back in the family business, his love for nature has helped launch Designscape’s Organic Solutions, providing a new approach to organic landscaping and lawn care.

Gabriel is an active member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, DHS Missions, and is a volunteer at Mother’s Cupboard Community Kitchen. He is the active president of the Indiana Nursery & Landscape Association, through which he is also an Indiana Accredited Master Horticulturalist. He also is an Internationally Certified Arborist (ISA) and focuses on the Plant Health Care (PHC) side of arboriculture .

He currently lives  in Yellowwood just a stone’s throw from the DHS Farm with his beautiful wife Haley, their two daughters Elsie and Rosalie and their Dobe Kaya. He enjoys playing the guitar, traveling, scuba diving, hiking, reading, and studying microbiology (a fancy term for playing in the dirt).
